How the site works
Welcome to our online Salon system.
This site has been initiated by the Port Elizabeth Camera Club, Cape Digital Salon Circuit and Cape Photographers.
A Salon of Photography is the showpiece for the best work by photographers.
The digital age has certainly made it a lot easier for photographers to compete in a number of salons simultaneously. Through this site we will endeavour to streamline the whole process for the benefit of both entrants and organisers. This will include standardisation in terms of image size, file format and naming formats etc. Using the SalonManager website for your salon entry, you will not have to worry about the correct naming of your entry for the category concerned as this will be handled programmatically.
You'll need to create a profile on this site - this will be used for all Salons that you wish to enter, both now and in the future.
The process of using this website is as follows:
Step 1 – Getting Started
User registers on Salon Manager
Activation email is sent to user address
Account is activated by the link embedded within email
Step 2 – Entering a Salon
User chooses a Salon (My Salons) and adds it to his/her list
User chooses various categories within that Salon and adds them to his/her “shopping basket”
User pays for his/her entry online
User can then upload photos into the previously paid-for categories – various checks such as photos size are done, and the filename to be used for judging purposes is generated
Step 3 – Judging and Results
Judges/ Salon Administrators download all photos once closing date is reached
Judging of photographs is done offline, and then the results are uploaded to the system
The results will be displayed for a few weeks after specific Salon closes
