How it works

Here is a quick overview of how the SalonManager site works.

Step 1 - Registration

• New Users must first register on SalonManager
• After filling in your details, an activation email is sent to your email address
• Your account is activated by clicking the link embedded within that mail.
• Once activated your profile is stored permanently, and can be accessed at any time for this and future salons by logging on.

Step 2 - Entering a salon

• You automatically enter a salon when you pay for categories in the salon.
• Choose the salon and either go to "Enter Categories" on the side menu, or follow the "Enter this salon" link at the bottom of the "Salon Info" page.
• Note that you can always change to another salon by selecting "Another Salon" from the side menu.

Step 3 - Paying for categories

• Choose "Enter Categories" from the side menu
• Select the categories you want to enter (click the plus button to add it to your “shopping basket”.
• Add other items (eg.Catalogue CD) you wish to pay for to your “shopping basket”.
• Click the checkout button and select the payment option you need from those available.
• (If you chose credit card payment, you'll now be rerouted to the bank's site)
• Make your payment.

Step 4 - Uploading your photos

• Choose "My Photos" from the side menu
• You will see the categories for which you have paid. Each category in its own box.
• The maximum dimensions and number of photos are displayed just below the category heading.
• Where you have not uploaded the maximum number of photos for a category you will see a place to upload a new image.
• Where you have already uploaded a photo (or more) to a category, you will see them listed with a button to update

Uploading a new photo
• To upload a new image you will be working in the "Upload Another Photo" block.
• Click the browse button and locate the required image on your computer.
• Type the title of the image (Salon Manager will create the required file name)
• Click the "Enter a new photo" button.
• When the page refreshes, check that the desired result was achieved.
• Repeat as required

Changing an already uploaded photo
• Find the photo you want to edit
• If you want to change the image, click browse and locate the new photo
• Change the title if necessary
• Click the "Update this photo" button
• When the page refreshes, check that the desired result was achieved.

Step 5 - Getting to your results (after judging)

• You will be emailed your scores as soon as Results are published. You may miss the email due to SPAM. You can check test your email at any time by clicking the "Test My EMail" option on the side menu.
• Check "Salon Info" to find the date when results will be available
• Choose "Salon Results" will appear on the side menu when results have been posted.
• Select the results you want to see (for circuit salons, there will be several).
• Awards and acceptances will be displayed.
